- Don't write down (store) your passwords on pieces of papers which can be accessed by un-authorised users.

- Regularly ensure you update security settings i.e software updates, patches for new features meant to fix and protect against anticipated security problems.
Always be aware of who is listening or looking over your shoulder. While you operate your computer device or your mobile devices; pay attention to the surrounding environment & be aware the people around you may take advantage of that for future attacks. *If anyone sees your login credentials, they can use them to get into your accounts, while using public wifi avoid accessing your private information.*Take note that anyone could be listening to work phone calls and making use of any of the sensitive information you share. Always remember it's better to only discuss confidential topics in-person. | |
During video calls and screen sharing, only show what needs to be seen. Video calls have become an integral part of our working and learning environment. But just like when you are dealing with someone in person, there are certain rules to follow to avoid any risk. *If you need to share your screen, make sure you are only showing the windows that need to be shown and there are no private documents in the background.*When finished with the video call meeting, ensure you dis-connect from the meeting discontinue any live streaming |
