Dear Colleagues, DAAD Alumni and Scholars,

The President of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), Prof. Dr. Joybrato Mukherjee, will be visiting Kenyatta University on Wednesday 26th February 2020. During this visit, he will give a Public Lecture on the topic "What's Next: The Future of African – German Cooperation in Higher Education" at Kenyatta University Conference Centre (KUCC) Main Hall at 3.00p.m. There will be an opportunity for informal interaction with the guest and DAAD Nairobi Office representatives after the lecture.

This is an important opportunity for scholars and researchers to better understand, and therefore strategically align, with the current and future focus of German funding and investment in Kenya's higher education sector. DAAD is currently the single largest body funding scholarships and academic exchange opportunities in the world. KU is a major beneficiary with 76 MSc and PhD scholarships awarded by DAAD since 2015.

You are all cordially invited to the event which is open to the public.  Please let us participate and be informed on the opportunities for collaborating with DAAD and potential benefits to our research, students, departments and schools.  Kindly share this information widely to colleagues in your departments, your postgraduate students and any other person interested in applying for any opportunity supported by DAAD. Guests are requested to be seated by 2.45p.m.
