Two-step-verification (2SV) is a type of authentication method that requires two factors of authentication, a password and a code or confirmation message that is sent to a user's phone by SMS or application installed on the phone. The University Corporate Email system has this feature as an option and a number of staff and students have already set up 2SV.
A guide on how to enable 2SV on your account is attached. The document is also available online on the ICT Support Knowledgebase.
To improve the security of our email system, the University Management on advice from ICT has approved the enforcement of 2SV on all University Corporate Email accounts. To do this, ICT will enable the enforcement policy on all email accounts, which all users will be required to have enabled 2SV.
2SV Policy Enforcement Date: 30th April, 2022
If you have any challenges in setting up 2SV, kindly contact our ICT Support Desk via the details below.
