Dear Madam,

Dear Sir,

Dear DAAD partners, alumni and friends,

The DAAD Regional Office for Africa would like to inform you that the Call for Applications for the 2023/2024 Research Grants to Germany is open!

These grants are open to young researchers and prospective Ph.D. students in the Sub-Saharan Africa region who wish to pursue

or wish to conduct part of their research within their Ph.D. studies in Germany (One-Year Grants: 7-12 months; Bi—Nationally Supervised Doctoral Degrees: up to 24 months).

These scholarships, with exception of the Kenyan-German Postgraduate Programme, are open to all fields and topics. There is no age limit, but the previous degree should not be older than 6 years at the time of application.

The most important application requirements are a 10-15 page research proposal and the confirmation of supervision by a professor in Germany/ admission letter to a structured PhD programme at a German university.

The deadline for the online application is 31 October 2022.

For further information, the programme officer Ms. Anja Bengelstorff can be reached via bengelstorff@daad.de and is happy to assist.
